James Monroe Document Signed as President
Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 13.5 x 9.5, January 1818. President Monroe grants John Taylor "a certain Tract of Land, containing One hundred and Sixty Acres." Signed at the conclusion by President Monroe and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office Josiah Meigs. In good to very good condition, with a missing seal, areas of paper loss, staining and soiling, intersecting folds, and heavy creasing; Monroe's signature is essentially unaffected.
