Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “Jas. Monroe,” one page, 15 x 11.75, July 14, 1801. As governor of Virginia, Monroe grants unto Alexandra Smyth, the assignee of John Thompson Sayers, a "certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing Two hundred Acres…on the north side of a Tract of Land on Cripple Creek." Neatly signed at the conclusion by Governor Monroe. The seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In fine condition.
