James Vivien de Fleury (British, fl.1847-c.1903), "Bonne Nuit Bay, Jersey"

* Notes: London painter of landscapes and coastal scenes who worked in watercolours and oils. He lived in London at Fulham and Notting Hill, in Margate 1861-2 and in Birmingham 1892-3. He first exhibited in London at the Royal Academy from 1847 and also at the Society of British Artists and British Institution. He did not exhibit at the principal societies after 1869. He travelled in Brittany, Switzerland and North Italy. Several works by de Fleury of Guernsey and Jersey are known, the most recent being dated 1903.
