According to Dr. Klaus Ertz´s report, the crown of flowers and the landscape in the medallion are the work of Jan Brueghel III, and the figures in the medallion are painted by Frans Francken III.
The scene depicts a meeting between the Virgin Mary and her cousin Elizabeth, together with a large border of fruits and flowers which was in vogue in this period. The lot includes a certificate by Dr. Klaus Ertz dated 14th May 2006.
