Oil on canvas on panel by Jan Cossaar. Depiction of a fishing boat on the Yorkshire coast. Not framed, image dimensions 42 x 33 cm. Signed on the bottom left. 'J Cossaar'. Titled and signed on the sticker on the back: 'De kust van Yorkshire' and 'J. Cossaar'. Authenticity is fully guaranteed. Ko (Jan) Cossaar was a Dutch painter. He grew up in Amsterdam. At the age of 11, he wanted to become an artist. With money from Professor H. Quack, he could go to the evening art school. He then went to the Academy of Fine Arts. Around 1900, he spent a lot of time in Paris and London and renewed his acquaintance with Kees and Jan van Dongen. In 1908, he settled in London, from where they moved back a year later.
