Jan Henderikse is one of the last living Zero artists. He is the founder of the Hollandse Inform, co-founder of NUL and his brothers in arms were Jan Junior Schoonhoven, Armando, and Henk Peeters. In the period 1957-1965, they turned the Dutch art world upside down.
He maintained close contacts and collaborations with Uecker, Piene, Manzoni, Fontana and Yves Klein. This resulted in numerous international exhibitions.
Jan Henderikse is one of the most important post-war Dutch artists. To this day, his work is a source of inspiration for many young contemporary artists. His work is created without a premeditated plan: out of nothing he turns discarded objects into an object elevated to art!
