Jan Sonnemans - Zonder titel

Vintage mannequin painted by Jan Sonnemans 2002. Jan Sonnemans (Sint-Oedenrode, February 19, 1943 - there, February 19, 2006) was a Dutch artist. Sonnemans was born as the son of the local village baker and grew up in a large family on the Market in Sint-Oedenrode. He studied at the Academy Eindhoven (free direction) where he graduated in 1969. In 2001 the "Vrienden van Jan Sonnemans" Foundation published a book about the life and work of Jan Sonnemans. In 2006 he died at the age of 63. The elegant mannequin comes from the 50s and is made of paper-mache (?) on metal frame. The doll is still fully intact and can be swivelled around the middle and arm and base. Height: approx. 180 cm. Base: Diameter of 39cm. Both arms are removable. Weight approx. 40 kg. Due to size and weight the work only can be picked up.
