[ translate ]

TLS signed “Janet Lee Auchincloss,” one page, 5.75 x 7.75, personal letterhead, March 21, 1964. Letter to author Jim Bishop, in full: "Thank you very very much for sending us 'A Day in the Life of President Kennedy.' I appreciate more than I can say your thoughtfulness. I enjoyed it very much, although it made me very sad. More and more as the years go by, it will be interesting to see what a day in a President's life and that of his family was like. I think Caroline and John would like to read it in years to come." She adds a handwritten postscript, "I hope we may meet one day. I have always enjoyed your writing." In fine condition, with some light creasing, and staple holes, to the top. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in her own hand.
