Japanese Teppo (a. k. a. : Teppô, Hinawajû, “fire rope gun”) matchlock gun from Meiji period. That stockless 75 cm hand gun has a silver-tausira ornamented round barrel. The wood parts have copper tiger, cherry blossom and arrow shaped decorations. On the top of the barrel, next to the lock mechanism a samurai helmet was cut into the copper. The matchlock mechanism works fine. The mount is not part of the tittle.
