PROVENANCE
Private Collection, Edmonton
The work is of hexagonal form, with each face decorated with seasonal florals and stylized fauna pendants. The shoulder is decorated with large longevity fungus medallions, all in a colour palette of predominantly red, yellow, white and gold. The cover is similarly decorated with a rounded finial containing a stylized chrysanthemum. The base has a blue Shimazu crest and the embossed gold signature of Satsuma Tomonobu.
