Japanese Bronze and Champleve Taotie Vase Imported by Mogi, Momononi & Co., NY in 1916, Ca. 1880-1900, H 13" Dia. 6.5"

Having a rich brown patina with repetitious drops from the champleve shoulder in the form of Taotie masks. Drilled on underside as a lamp. Inside the vase is a receipt from the Mogi, Momononi & Co. dated 2/18/1916. Mogi, Momoni & Co. was an importer of fine Japanese bronze and ceramics in New York. Founded in 1892.
