Japanese Hakone Yosegi Zaiku Marquetry Puzzle Box

A vintage Japanese yosegi-zaiku wooden puzzle or secret box, likely made in the Hakone region. The rectangular box is decorated on all sides with intricate geometric mosaic patterns created from contrasting natural woods. Designed with concealed sliding panels that must be moved in sequence to open. Length:4.5 inches. Width: 3.25 inches; Height: 2 inches.

Condition
Good vintage condition with minor surface scratches, edge wear, small separations, and discoloration consistent with age. Opening mechanism has not been fully tested. Please review all photographs.
