Japanese Horizontal Hanging Scroll with Calligraphy and Orchid

Japanese horizontal hanging scroll, or yokoe kakejiku, featuring a minimalist ink and light color composition of an orchid alongside bold sumi ink calligraphy. The orchid is rendered with green and red accents on a paper ground, mounted with a decorative gold-toned floral patterned brocade border and a dark patterned fabric section at the left. The upper center contains a column of cursive calligraphy and two red square artist seals that are not clearly legible as a name. The scroll is finished with red lacquered wooden roller ends and includes a black hanging cord.
