Japanese Lacquer Scholars Box with Fukurokuju

A Japanese lacquer scholars box (Suzuribako). The lid is decorated with an image of Fukurokuju with a fan and a deer, dating to the 19th century. Interior fitted with a signed ink stone and silver plated water dropper. Comes in period wood box with 4-character inscription.

Dimensions: 1 3/4 inches tall X 8 1/4 inches wide X 9 inches long; 4.4 cm tall X 21 cm wide X 22.9 cm deep. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: Lacquer box is in overall good condition. The outer wood box has heavy chipping and areas of loss.
