George William Knox, D.D., LL.D. (American, 1853-1912) was a Presbyterian theologian and writer, born at Rome, NY. He graduated from Hamilton College in 1874, and from Auburn Theological Seminary in 1877, then went as a missionary to Japan, where he was professor of homiletics and professor of philosophy and ethics at the Imperial University of Tokyo. After return to the US, he was pastor at Rye, NY. In 1897-1899 he lectured at Union Theological Seminary.
