Japanese Satsuma hand painted porcelain tea and dessert service for 6, probably Taisho period. Set includes lidded teapot, lidded creamer, lidded sugar bowl, 6 dessert plates, and 6 cups & saucers. An off-white ground with hand painted floral decoration with gilt accents. Burgundy red to the rims, gilt to the handles and edges. Japanese marks to the underside as well as the Shimazu clan mark.

Condition Report: : Teapot with a hairline to the lower edge underneath the spout that apparently does not go through. One saucer with a small chip to the rim. Creamer and one tea cup each with a darkened line that does not go through, and does not appear to be a hairline, possibly darkened crazing. One cup with small area of the mouth that has been re-gilted. Crazing and staining. Please refer to photos.
