Japanese Sumi-e Ink Wash Dragon Hanging Scroll

Japanese hanging scroll, or kakemono, featuring a monochromatic ink wash painting on paper. The composition depicts a dynamic dragon emerging from dark clouds and mist, with its body undulating toward crashing waves on the right. The work utilizes sumi-e techniques, with varying ink tones and energetic brushwork defining the creature's scales and features. The painting is mounted on a golden-brown fabric with a repeated floral scroll pattern, bordered by black silk textile with a coordinating gold motif. A semi-cursive signature and a red intaglio square seal are present in the lower right corner, though the characters are not clearly legible as a specific name. The scroll is finished with wooden rollers at the base.
