Japanese Type 30 Arisaka Bayonet with Steel Scabbard and Fabric Frog

An Imperial Japanese Type 30 bayonet designed for use with the Arisaka rifle. The bayonet features a single-edged steel blade with a full-length fuller and a hooked crossguard quillon. The hilt is constructed with contoured wood grip scales secured by two screws with oval washers, terminating in a bird's head pommel with a functioning spring-loaded attachment catch. An arsenal mark is stamped on the ricasso, consisting of three interlocking circles arranged in a triangle. This mark corresponds to the Kokura (formerly Koishikawa/Tokyo) Arsenal. The piece is accompanied by a tapered tubular steel scabbard with a ball-tip finial and a brown woven canvas and leather belt frog with a metal buckle. The blade measures approximately 15.5 inches from the crossguard to the tip. The overall length of the bayonet is approximately 20 inches. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
