Japanese Type 99 Bolt Action Rifle 30th Series Toyo Kogyo Arsenal 7.7 Caliber
This Type 99 rifle was made at the Toyo Kogyo Arsenal in the 30th series production and is chambered in 7.7x58 Arisaka. It features a 26" barrel with a guarded inverted V front sight and adjustable Anti-Aircraft rear sight. The receiver features an intact "Mum" with the "99 Type" markings, the series and arsenal markings on the left side, and a Mauser style bolt release. The bolt is fitted with a knurled safety knob and bolt parts are non matching to the receiver. The two piece stock houses the full length cleaning rod and is fitted with a monopod on the lower barrel band. Left side sling swivels are fitted on the lower band and rear stock with a leather sling and stock is capped off with a metal butt plate. LOP: 12 1/2". CALIBER/GA: 7.7x58. S/N: 30781. Condition
Metal parts show oxidation and pitting. Bore is shiny with good rifling. Rear stock has some separating at the joint. Mechanics are good and rear sight is very stiff from oxidation.
