Japanese archaic pottery Incense Urn (Koro), period: Fujiwara (750-1150 A.D.) Bowl shaped body has 2 ears which extend beyond the mouth. Cover is carved in open work leaving the center open. Foot is continuation of the body with 3 notches. Coated with a dark green and amber colored silicate glaze. Silvery iridescence on inside has raised spokes. 2 1/4"H x 4 1/2"W x 3 1/2"Diam.
