Japanese carved and lacquered wood folding wall shelves, Meiji period, both rectangular backplates lacquered and inlaid with butterflies ,bowl of water and vase, within a carved low relief border of lotus and scrolling tendrils, within a carved and pierced scroll surround, height 59cm. Both shelves have makers marks on the reverse Good condition with minor age related wear to both panels and one with slightly loose bracket
