Jar - Sandstone - YUAN-MING BALUSTER JAR WITH NARROW NECK IN BLACK GLAZE - China - Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368)
A large Chinese baluster jar. YUAN period (1279 - 1368) / MING period (1368 - 1644) The Jar has narrow neck in contrast to the wider body on the middle. Covered with a rich layer of shiny black glazed from Henan province. The glaze ends above the flat, slightly concave base. some parts on the lower body of the jar are remained without glazing, possibly when touching another piece while it was fired in the kiln. Good condition with some firing faults and signs of usage ( see photos)
