The sculpture of a woman's head by the important Czech Art Deco sculptor Jaroslav Horejc is from the artist's early period. He executed this sculpture in a variety of sizes and materials: glazed ceramic, fired clay, bronze, Carrara marble, and pear wood. A variant in carved wood, Lívia, was exhibited in 1935 at the Mánes for the 50th-anniversary exhibition of the artist's work. The size shown is with a base of plum marble
