The drawing was made by Dr. Original Dagmar Korbacher, director of the Kupferstichkabinett Berlin. According to oral expertise, the age of the present drawing roughly corresponds to that of Greuze's mutually executed original drawing ''The Unthankful Son'' in the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., the date of which research has given as about 1770.
