This edition is a translation of the original French edition: 'Les plus beaux monuments de Rome ancienne The etching is engraved by Georg Christoph Kilian, German engraver, collector and cartographer (1709-1781 in 1762), after Jean Barbault (ca. 1705-1766), a French painter and engraver.Kilian is a talented engraver who was a student of Giovanni Battista Piranesi.
