Jean Carlu 1900–1997 Mon Savon c'est "Monsavon" vintage poster
Caption Brief: One of Carlu’s most inspired creations and the one that launched his career: the triangular shape of the well-tanned brawny bathe virtually leads our attention to the blue soap in his hand. The design, which shows the cubist influence on the artist, was reproduced in nearly every magazine dealing with graphic arts, garnering much praise at the time. It still works flawlessly. The poster plays on words with its slogan, since Mon Savon translates to "My Soap," so that the text effectively reads "My Soap is MY SOAP".
