Jean Dubuffet

[ translate ]

signed with the artist's initials and dated 'J.D. août 60' upper right
India ink on paper
30.2 x 23.8 cm (11 7/8 x 9 3/8 in.)
Executed in 1960, in France.

Condition Report:
The work is in very good condition. The sheet is very slightly undulated, deemed inherent to the mounting method and only visible on very close inspection. The edges of the sheet are uneven and there are artist's pinholes to the corners, deemed inherent to the artist's materials used and studio technique. There is very minor bumping to the corners and edges in places, a minor soft crease to the upper centre horizontal edge, a minor very faint handling mark to the centre-left vertical edge and occasional minute pinpoint foxing in places, all only visible on very close inspection. This work has been examined under ultraviolet light and there is no evidence of restoration. Otherwise, there are no apparent condition issues with this work. The work is framed under glass in a brown wooden frame, presented float-mounted in a window mount and attached to its backing in places from the reverse.
