A late 19th century standing Jeweler's Regulator by George Schuler & Co, Detroit. Schuler was listed in the 1880 Johnston's Detroit City Directory and advertised as a dealer in "Fine Gold and Silver Watches" at 160 Jefferson Avenue (at the foot of Woodward Avenue where Hart Plaza is today), this clock would have been prominently located in the store for patrons to see and set their watches to. 8-day weight driven movement with pinwheel escapement, sweep seconds, porcelain dial with Roman numerals and bi-metallic gridiron pendulum with lyre engraved "Manufactured by Schuler & Co., Detroit, Mich". Three section American Victorian Renaissance Revival Period Black Walnut case with Burl panels and carved detail features an arched crest with carved Columbia bust and drapery swag over a paneled frieze and long door with Burl panels and rosettes on a paneled base with molded plinth.
