Refined vase, coming from a remarkable collection of Italian silverware, made and signed by Mario Buccellati during the first half of the 20th century Mario Buccellati opened his first store, in 1919 in Milan, then expanding his empire first throughout Italy (Florence and Rome) and in the 1950s, Buccellati expanded in the United States, with a boutique on Fifth Avenue in New York. The treasures created by Buccellati are inspired by Renaissance style, and by nature. His close friend, the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, nicknamed him "the prince of goldsmiths". He was also recognized by collectors as one of the best and skilled jewellers and silversmiths in the world.
