A 19th century Burmese pink sapphire and diamond cluster ring, silver and gold mounted, the cushion-cut pink sapphire in closed-back setting, within a surround of old-cut diamonds, pinched collet mounted, between flower, shell and scroll carved shoulders, inner shoulders engraved with initials ‘M C’, ring size M. £500-£700---The pink sapphire has been verbally assessed at GCS as being of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.------For more information, additional images and to bid on this lot please go to the auctioneers website, www.dnw.co.uk
Condition Report: Signs of alterations/strengthening to the shank, with slight cracks to the gold to the inside of one shoulder. The pink sapphire is a vibrant pink hue of even colour saturation. The setting shows some tarnish to the silver, commensurate with age. Diameter of ring head 9.5mm. Gross weight 3.3gm.
