Joel Beck Comix Book #2 Complete 1-Page Story Original Art (Kitchen Sink/Marvel, 1975). Comix Book was an audacious fusion of an Underground Comix attitude with the mass-market appeal of Marvel Comix. Beck, a key contributor, was a political satirist and countercultural social critic whose work prefigured and paced the Underground movement. This splendid piece finds a talk-show host interviewing a supposedly peaceable Marineland dolphin -- which has adopted a pro-war stance, with disturbing implications. Brilliant and provocative. Drawn in ink/graphite on 12 separate Bristol board panels, glued in tiers onto a wrinkled backing sheet. Dimensions, 16" 11.25". Intact, however, and in Very Good condition, with adhesive seams.
