Excellent single-piece carving of the well-known papal basilica made of fruit tree wood. Great depth of perspective. One part of a roof beam missing. Bottom right signed "Rint". With foldable wooden stand in original fruit wood frame. Dimensions 55 x 45 cm.
Johann Rint was a formidable Austrian wood carver appointed to the imperial court. His most well known works include the altar of the church in České Budějovice and the decoration of the princely crypt in Nezamyslice.
