The Jenbach near Bad Feilnbach with a View of the Wendelsteingruppe

Oil on canvas. 48.2 x 35.7 cm. Relined. Restored. Framed. "Of even greater charm is a small, spring-fresh mountain landscape [...] from the year 1878, at which time Sperl was living with Leibl in this area. Here we see the return of the gnarled willow, recognisable from Leibls painting of the Hunter, and which was apparently painted in by Sperl himself at Leibls insistence. (F. E.
