Johannes Klinkenberg was a student at the Academie around 1865. He once painted this watercolour of the old column building, a design by the city architect Zeger Reyers in 1839. Because of the striking facade with a triangular pediment supported by six columns it was nicknamed "the temple". The building was demolished in 1934.
