Condition Report:
Please note the colors and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings.
This unique sequence of 8 photographs on matte-surface paper is in generally good condition. When examined unframed, fingerprints (primarily along the edges); faint silvering; small creases (some of which appear to break the emulsion) that occurred prior to mounting; abrasions; stray ink; and soiling are visible sporadically on the prints. The reverse of each mount is soiled.
Specific notes are as follows:
Image 1: The left portion of the image is discolored, particularly at the center left edge. There is a rust-colored deposit at the lower edge on the left side. Scattered on the surface are circular dark deposits, possibly liquid drips.
There are Sonnabend Gallery, New York and Glenstone, Potomac, labels on the reverse of the frame. The following are written on the reverse of the frame in unidentified hands: ‘*INSTALL THE 8 PANELS IN A HORIZONTAL ROW APPROXIMATELY 2 “APART. ORDER IS ARBITRARY' (red ink).
Image 3: There is a Sonnabend Gallery, New York label on the reverse of the mount.
Image 6: The left side of the reverse is abraded and there is adhesive residue in the upper center.
