Impressive Rotterdam harbour view by the master John Bévort. The painting is signed and is in excellent condition. Total dimensions: 89 x 114 cm. Bevort was educated at Chris Agterberg and G. Nijenhuis in Utrecht. He lived and worked in North Holland where he worked with Spartan discipline until a very advanced age. He also made many trips through Europe and the U. S. and was a member of the International Organisation of free art. Bévort is best known for his naturalistic landscapes, beach- and seascapes and hunting scenes that he painted with a palette knife. He was the teacher of well-known painters like Gerard Ernens and Peter Brouwer.
