The heaped pile of junk took Bratby's cluttered still life vision to its natural conclusion.' Many of these outdoor scenes were exhibited at Beaux Arts Gallery, London in 1959, the artist's final show with the gallery. The works are a natural denouement to the artist's seminal 'Kitchen Sink' period.
