Catalog Note:
John Drake Pusey was an American Regionalist painter who worked for the Federal Art Project's Works Project Administration (WPA) in the 1930s under the tutelage of Grant Wood. Pusey trained in France before settling in Council Bluffs, Iowa. His work was exhibited by the Iowa Art Salon in 1934.
Condition Report: All unframed with canvas rolled.
Some surface dirt overall. All paintings have one or two 1" square holes near the center of canvases for securing them onto a wall they were previously mounted on. Various localized areas of wear with some cracking of paint in all canvases from general wear and from rolling. Staining in the winter section of mural. Accretion drips of varnish on one canvas near where it was attached to a wall. Good condition overall for age.
