South Carolina coin silver cup, stamped J EWAN in rectangle for John Ewan, working Charleston, 1823-1852. Cylindrical form with slightly bulbous top tapering to a narrower foot, crosshatch banding at upper and lower rims, reeded rectangular handle. Faint, illegible old monogram with "1803" to body (possibly a significant date to the original owner). 3 1/4" H excluding handle, 3 7/8" H with handle. 3.82 oz troy.

Condition Report: Cup appears to be early, with handle added later. Solder marks visible inside cup. Overall very good condition otherwise with minimal denting and a few light scratches.
