John F. Kennedy Assassination Piece of Leather from Limousine and Strand of Hair in Exhibit Quality Framed Display - This is a John F. Kennedy framed display featuring rare, historical relics from his assassination on November 22, 1963. These include an authentic small swatch of blue leather removed from the bloodstained back seat of the Presidential limousine in Dallas, two before and after photographs, signed by participants in his evacuation to the hospital, and a strand of his hair previously cut by the White House barber. The blue leather remnant was originally obtained from F. Vaughan Ferguson, White House Technical Service Representative. Ferguson assisted the upholsterer in removing the leather from the Lincoln Continental limousine at the White House, where it was reupholstered. The leather was later obtained by presidential memorabilia collector Raleigh Greer Amyx. A copy of Ferguson's original LOA to Amyx is included in the display. The hair strand was obtained from the son of former White House barber Steve Martini and is accompanied by a copy of his notarized COA is also framed inside the display. The display also includes a descriptive plaque and before and after photos signed, respectively, by Dr. Allen Childs, a doctor at Parkland Memorial Hospital where the President was taken, and officer Milton J. Wright, part of the motorcade who helped carry him into the hospital. A scarce and fascinating piece of memorabilia commemorating one of the most tragic events in U.S. History. Measurements: 22 x 18 inches (framed).
