Oil on canvas which has been lined. The canvas has good tension and the picture is in plane. The paint layers are in a good, stable condition overall. Under ultra violet light a varnish layer is present with a bright yellow fluorescence, although this does not extend to the corners of the painting. There is some overpaint present, mainly located in the corners of the canvas. It is possible that the painting was once displayed with a round slip to the frame.
