Condition Report: Lined canvas. Faint stretcher bar marks from square canvas visible at edges. Very slight yellowing to the varnish layer. Finely patterned, very faint craquelure throughout. Square canvas stretcher measures 16 by 16 inches. Not examined out of frame.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. A few finely applied dots and dashes of retouching to the edges of the foreground area. Two small areas of fine retouching to the rump of the grey horse. Extensive brushy retouching to the sky at upper left.
