Original canvas. Covered in a thick layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. Split to mitre join of the slip upper right-hand corner. Some general rubbing to edges. Cluster of horizontal and irregular-shaped surface scruffs and abrasions within upper left-hand corner. Isolated patches of varying size cracquelure. Dashes of brown coloured slightly incongruous looking paint to both top corners. Subtle stretcher shadow. Otherwise broadly in a good and stable state of preservation.
