John Round & Son Ltd, an impressive Edwardian hallmarked silver swing basket in gimbled frame, elaborate foliate repoussé work to the front and back, and naturalistic applied vine detailing curling around the stand. Large empty cartouches to the front and back, and reeded circular base. Hallmarked to base, bowl, and tips of both finials attaching the bowl to the frame. Sheffield, 1905. Height approx. 23cm, width approx. 28cm. 26.06ozt/810.7g.
Condition Report: Surface wear to silver as expected. Stands true, hallmarks clear. Some wear to the leaf detailing at the rim of the bowl, some having been bent slightly inwards. No denting to bowl or base. Many of the leaves missing to one side. Tips of some of the edge leaves are bent and one tip broken. It is still a very impressive piece.
