British, 17th century. An engraved and hand-colored map of Sussex, full title: Sussex Described and divided into Rapes with the situation of the Chichester the cheife citie thereof. And the armes of such Nobles as have bene dignified with the title of Earles since the conquest and other accidents therein observed. Described by John Norden. Augmented by John Speede And are to be sold by Roger Rea the Elder and younger at the Golden Crosse in Cornhill against the Exchange by J.S. and George Humble Cum privilegio. Inset of Chichester u.l., small inclusion of a representation of the Battle of Hastings u.r.; 15.25 x 20 in. (sight), 22.5 x 27 in.(frame).
Condition Report: Not examined out of frame. Spot of discoloration right of title cartouche. Sparse small tears around edges.
