Jordi Freixas Cortés (Barcelona, 21 April 1917 - Tiana, 4 February 1984) is one of the important names of post-war Catalan painting. He was a painter of the "lost generation", as the critic Rafael Santos Torroella defined it, referring to his fifties: that of men and women whose youth was halved by the Civil War and the immediate Second World War , and company of the tribulations of Josep Maria Mallol Suazo, Joan Palet, Lluís Pallarès, Joan Barbeta, a group of artists that A. del Castillo called "neoromantics", "neo-Romantics" and "neoromantics". del Castillo called "neoromantics".
