Born in 1982 in Australia, Jordy Kerwick approaches still life form a contemporary outlook. The artist represents scenes inspired by domestic life in which he introduces vanitas.
The work entitled Flowers, illustrates the fragility of human life. The stems are drawn with such finesse that they seem to be on the verge of disappearing. Moreover, if the human figure is ultimately absent from the composition, certain elements, such as the cigarette butts left on the table, refer to the fleeting moment of his passage. Just like human beings, these objects remain unstable and ephemeral.

L’œuvre intitulée Flowers, illustre la fragilité de la vie humaine. Les tiges sont tracées avec une telle finesse, qu’elles semblent sur le point de se dissiper. De plus, si l’homme est ultimement absent de la composition, certains éléments, tels que les mégots de cigarettes abandonnés sur la table, renvoient au moment fugitif de son passage. Tout comme l’être humain ces objets demeurent instables et voués à la disparition.
