Artist Statement
"The feelings I had inside, when each stroke of paint was applied to all the paintings and pastels I have done over the years, is that my soul was attempting to express all the wonder and beauty that I have seen and felt in my life...the magic and color of life, and the amazing experiences life has to offer. Painting from the soul is where it all originates...the connection of the soul to the world of form, expressed in painting."

Jorn Fox is an artist who captures the soul of his images. He opens our eyes and hearts to a vibrant life with each painting...from life to music, the sea, the passion of a dancer and the soul of a musician. He is truly blessed to have such versatile talent in both Abstracts and Impressionism.

He was born in Southern California, and was exposed to art at an early age by his father. He began his formal art studies in high school and continued successfully at California State University, Fullerton. Through the many hours spent plein air painting on location, painting live models and "still lifes" in studio, his drawing and photography studies, he found he was afforded the opportunity of limitless expression, exploration and discovery in the maturation of his art.

For 40 years, Jorn has drawn inspiration from the varied terrain of the Southern California coast and its people. Indeed, though he has a signature characteristic elegance of style, each of his paintings are distinct, as are the various stunning locales, peoples and moments that inspire them. Working with palette knife and brush, Jorn is able to evoke serenity and stillness, as well as movement and emotion in his works. This can be seen in his forever expanding collection that includes coastal, jazz, landscape, harbor, abstract, figurative, automobile and nautical series.
