Josef Mansfeld (1819-1894) - Still life with cherry, apple and wine bottle
Still life painting with cherries, apple and wine bottle was executed by Austrian painter Josef Mansfeld (1819 - Vienna - 1894) . He was painter of genre scenes, portraits and still lifes. Mansfeld specialised in still lifes composed of fruit, bottles of wine, Bavarian tankards and delicately crafted glass drinking vessels (rohmer) .
Josef Mansfeld was grandson of the engraver Joseph Georg Mansfeld . Studied from 1833 at the Academy of Fine Arts and can be detected with paintings in exhibitions from 1845th From this period his oil painting " consolation of a blind " and " Abendruhe ", ( both 1845) , " The Chess Player " ( 1847) and " A council of war in 1848 " (1849 ; all Historical Museum) ; In 1852 he painted " The old couple " .
