Joseph Beuys (1921-1986): Postkarten
Joseph Beuys (1921-1986): Postkarten
Eighty offset postcards in a cardboard box, signed in pencil on the box.
All 6 x 4 in. (sheet).
Note: Central to Beuys' art is his idea that art is, and should be, part of everyday life. To that end, he created postcards that reproduced many of his works in other media as a way of disseminating his ideas to a larger community. Most of the postcards are on traditional paper, but he also made postcards out of wood, felt, metal and plastic. More than in his other multiples, the postcards reveal Beuys' sense of humor and wit.
Literature: See Schellmann 103.
Condition Report: All in good condition.
Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
